Two genuine companies hi-jacked fraudulently, Shropshire and Midlands
Hire company AAJ Supply Ltd has been targeted by a company hi-jack in the name of Merit Group Services Ltd, which is a genuine company based in the NE.
Equipment (fence panels, crowd barriers, toilets and generators) was delivered on behalf of AAJ to Unit A, Woolston Road, Oswestry, SY10 8HY in early December 2024.
The site landlord is a Mr David CADWALLADER, MD of Cadwallader Ltd, Maesbury Road, Oswestry, SY10 8NJ (07850 957130). He let the unit to Kidsborough Ltd (Paul HAYTON 0161 7265158).
The site was visited on 9th and 10th January where a large amount of equipment was found belonging to HSS Hire (fence panels and crowd barriers), Summit Platforms (14m Telehandler) and CLD Fencing Systems Ltd.
According to Summit, the telehandler was legitimately on hire to Kidsborough although it now appears that the equipment left at the site was due to be moved this week. Mr HAYTON denied hiring the telehandler and authorised the unit to be emptied of all kit.
CLD Fencing Systems had opened a bogus account on behalf of Turners of Soham Ltd (again, a genuine company whose details have been hi-jacked). All the remaining equipment on site has been recovered.
This morning notification was received from both Summit Platforms and CLD Fencing Systems that further requests for equipment have been received to deliver to Unit 2B, Blackacre Road/Leyland Drive, Dudley, DY2 7DQ. These deliveries have been cancelled.
Some CCTV footage of the yard in Oswestry has been provided by a local resident and two scissor lifts can be seen being removed from the site. There is every probability that these have been obtained fraudulently so if your business has delivered any equipment to this site, it is no longer there.
