News Item: HAE EHA Risk Services Launches with New Member Benefits


The Hire Association has partnered with Stallard Kane for over 15 years, to provide the BusinessGuard service to members. This is a valuable benefit, especially for small businesses, offering a helpline and online resources covering health & safety, workplace legislation and human resources.

A lot has changed in regulation and legislation, and web technology has moved on significantly over the years so, a review has been carried out and, with mutual agreement we can now announce the launch of HAE EHA Risk Services.

The essential elements of the service remain in place:

  • FREE access to the online portal*
  • FREE use of a 24 hour helpline
  • FREE one hour review of your daily activities and risks
  • FREE one hour review of your existing employment contracts

  • * a new version is on the way with approximately 350 documents including policies, procedures, templates and risk assessments

    Changes and New Benefits

    Risk Services will include new elements which will be rolled out over the coming weeks however, we’re pleased to announce the first update today; a basic contract of employment that association members can obtain.

    The template contains the minimum information that must be included within an employment contract by law and there are additional clauses that can be drafted with support and guidance from the Risk Services team.

    These include, but are not limited to:

    • Mobility Clauses – allows an employer to make a future move to a new workplace.
    • Temporary Layoff or Short Time Working – protects the business in the event of a downturn in work or unforeseen circumstances
    • Employee Checks – where appropriate, the employer has the right carry out a search of the employee’s property or person
    • Termination Without Giving Notice – enables an employer to make deductions in the event an employee fails to serve notice
    • Gardening Leave – the employee continues to receive their salary and benefit but is not required to work their notice period
    • Post-Termination Restrictions – limit what an employee can do after leaving their job
    • Training Costs – covers repayment terms if the employee leaves the company shortly after completing the training
    • Company Property – requires an employee to return all company property when they leave the company
    • Confidential Information – prohibits an employee from disclosing sensitive company information
    • Authorised Deductions from Wages – protects the employer in the event of overpayment, monies owed etc.
